Enjoy Sweet Field TOMATOES All Year Round!

Tomatoes grown under the summer sun hold so much sweetness, colour, juice and pure joy. So wouldn't it be great to have a little of that summer taste all year round? I say, hell yeah! Let me give you a few little helpful tricks to get you inspired before the tomato season is fully wrapped up.

Roasted Tomatoes

Roasted tomatoes can add so much flavour to sauces, salsas, stews, soups...ok, pretty much everything! After roasting them, you can choose to can or freeze them. I have found that both ways are work great!

Freezing Tomatoes Whole

Don't have time to make sauce or salsa right now? How about freezing them whole to process them later! Freezing is literally the easiest and quickest way to preserve tomatoes. Plus once they thaw, you can easily pull their skin off!

Canning Tomatoes

It's not difficult to can your own tomatoes. Mostly it takes time. I would recommend trying it out cause there's really nothing like having a pantry full of your own canned tomatoes!

Side note: I prefer using 2 Tbsp of apple cider vinegar per quart over lemon juice - it doesn't seem to change the flavour as much and keeps that beautiful sweet tomato taste all winter long!
